About Us

Adam Walker

Occupation: Sales Representative for Kelly-Moore Paint Company.

Hunting:  Born and raised in the Treasures Valley were he learned how to hunt upland birds with his father.  Adam was introduced to waterfowl hunting at 16 and fell in love.  After many years of being trucked around by his father Adam is now "trucking" around his old man.

With the weather changing each and every fall October is bound to come.  Time to dust off the waders, clean out the boat and get the alarm clock ready of those early mornings to come.  Friends will become hunting buddies, but these guys aren't buddies they are brothers, The Banded Brothers!

Adam has taken his passion to a higher level over the past year and joined the Board of Directors of the Idaho Waterfowl Association.

Competition Calling: Adam started calling in a small classroom at the local College in 2004.  With a lot of practice and a little talent Adam wanted to try his luck at the calling circuit.  In 2005 he entered his first contest the Idaho State Duck.  With nothing but total surprise he didn't end up last!  With a top 3 finish Adam had to go on.

Now 3 years later and a lot of competitions behind him Adam can say he knows what it takes to be a world class caller.  In 2006, Adam won the Idaho State Duck Calling Contest and won the right to compete in the World's Duck Calling Contest.

Calling Competitions:  In 2007 the Snake River Calling Championship was born.   Adam put this event together to show what the West is made of.  Of course Adam couldn't do it by himself he had help from The Banded Brothers.  This contest is held in Boise Idaho.

Skagit Valley Calling Competition also started in 2007 Adam was contacted by Ducks Unlimited and asked to put together a calling competition in Northern Washington.

Justin Shell

Occupation:Assitant Manager at Kelly-Moore Paint Company.

Hunting: Born and raised in the small town of Burley, ID.  Justin now makes his home in Boise, ID. He started out hunting upland game with his father and family. Justin was introduced to waterfowl hunting at the age of 17, and has enjoyed it ever sense. After all these years of waking up in the bitter cold. He can't wait for the season to start with a pot of hot coffee.

One thing Justin looks foward to when the season starts is spending time out with the brothers, and watching the ducks come in. Time to stock up on shells, calls, and hold on. It's going to be a blast.

Competition Calling: Justin also started calling in the same classroom as Adam. In early 2007 Justin started calling competitively. He placed 4th in novice at the Best of The West. He place 3rd at Idaho State. Placed 2nd in two man duck at the Snake River Calling Championships.  He hopes that one day he will be able to take his skills to the World's stage, and compete against the best of the best. He is also a large part of the Snake River Calling Championship, and hopes to make it one of the best calling competions in the west.

Jacob Hyer

Occupation:
Executive Chef for the ARAMARK Corporation.
After attending Rocky Mt. College in Billings, Montana Jake took a full time job cooking in a local Boise area restaurant. He soon fell in love with cooking and entertained the idea of going to culinary school but was offered an Apprentice Position under one of the area's top pastry chefs. Jake now works for the ARAMARK Corporation - the largest contract food service company in the United States - and loves his current roll as the Executive Chef at the Boise Citi Group location. He still misses the fast pace world of the restaurant life but cherishes the slower pace lifestyle he can have in the contract food service business.

Jake also runs Fowlweather Custom Calls, a small custom call company that builds one call at a time with a totally custom feel and sound suited for his clients. Check out what Jake has been Turn'n and Burn'n at www.fowlweathercustomcalls.com

Hunting:
Jake was born and raised in southwestern Idaho and still makes his home in the small town of Homedale. Jake grew up on an upland hunting club in Homedale, Idaho which ran private and guided hunts for Pheasants, Chukars, and Bob White Quail. Along with the hunting club his parents also operated a sporting clays range were he spent most of his summers trapping clays and pounding targets when he could talk one of his 5 brothers into trapping clays for him. Jake spent a good deal of time helping his father with the hunting club but never really gained a passion for upland hunting due to the fact that it became more of a job than something he enjoyed. The Hyer boys did find a little piece of wing shooting heaven when Jake's father leased a section of land along the Snake River for the hunting club. They soon put in several blinds in this area and learned the art of waterfowl hunting. Jake took his passion to the next level a few years after he graduated from high school and now spends close to 80 long days in the grueling 107-day season of the Pacific Flyway. Also along his side in the field is his wife Kacey and soon he hopes his three sweet daughters will join them. He enjoys all types of waterfowl hunting from Divers in Big water, Puddle Ducks on the Marshes, and Honkers and Green Heads in the Cut Corn Fields...
